Maintaining A Heritage Icon – Blackpool Council
“ I got shivers when I saw this video! It really shows how visionary Blackpool and Lancashire Council have been in creating tramway history. There are so many aspects to the maintenance and operation that are not realised, and this video makes me so proud to be the Managing Director of Blackpool Transport. The best part was hearing the people that are involved in the day to running of the tramway telling their stories and showing how professionally it is run.”
Well done Duncan Ray!
Jane Cole – Managing Director
Blackpool Transport Services
Duncan’s done an amazing job, turning what could have been a very dry subject in terms of maintenance into a really interesting, and compelling story and video!

‘’I would like to pass on my thanks to Duncan Arthur Ray Consulting Ltd for the production of the Blackpool Tramway film. It is Duncan’s knowledge and understanding of the key aspects or story required from the client that made this film outstanding and will now be used with a range of audiences. The professional production was exceptional which made this film so engaging and also went far beyond what was asked. The Tramway Governance Board are thoroughly delighted with the film and now look to use it on a wide range of media communications. We will certainly be engaging Duncan’s services again !’’
Will Britain – Head of Highways & Traffic Management
Blackpool Council
The film produced by Duncan Ray really brings the tramway to life. It shows the importance of maintaining the tramway as an important local transport asset and how it attracts visitors to the Fylde coast and brings significant economic benefit to the area. The historical journey of the tramway, to the modern facility it is today, should be of great interest to the wider local community. I would hope that the film is used as a learning asset in the local community, as it really documents how the tramway has developed over the years.
